Importance of Cryogenic Preservation in Medical Science
At present, medical science has advanced so much that it believes in reviving the dead. Cryogenic preservation is one of the techniques for doctors, researchers, and scientists interested in storing biological materials, such as human and animal cells. It is used to store biological materials at low temperatures (196°C). It is used when nitrogen is in its gaseous state.
Usage of Cryogenic Preservatives
All those professionals who are concerned with
the research work use cryogenic preservatives. And these people are called
cytogenetic technologists. They study the chromosomes and the relationship
between chromosomes and diseases that affect human beings and animals, along
with the role that chromosomes play in human development. These chromosomes are
found in the bone marrow, blood, and amniotic fluids, etc. So, cryogenic
preservatives are needed to "freeze" these chromosomes so that
cytogenetic technologists can analyze and carry out development and research to
deal with problems due to chromosomes, such as Down's syndrome, Klinefelter
syndrome, miscarriages, fertility issues, and many other diseases.
Advantages of Cryogenic Preservatives
Those couples who cannot reproduce would be
greatly benefitted from cryogenic preservation. The sperm cell,
frozen and stored due to the use of the cryogenic preservatives, could be used
to impregnate women. In addition, single women who do not want to get married
can switch over using frozen sperm cells and give birth to a normal and healthy
child. Scientists are also working on generating human eggs to cope up with the
problems related to infertility. They are doing research that would allow them
to improve the sperm count of men having low sperm counts. Cryogenic
preservatives are also useful in freezing seeds of plants. This would greatly
benefit the agricultural system in the long term. Seeds of plants that grow
seasonally can be stored for use in the future and grown in a more favorable
climate.
At SPI-MFG, we offer products that are
uniquely designed to improve the culture and recovery of gametes and embryos.
We have three different filters. The flow rate for all three exceeds the competitors,
thereby reducing collection times where high volumes of media are required. Our
dishes have contoured wells, so samples can efficiently work under
magnification. Only barbed fittings are used in both the equine and bovine
sets. We do not use any solvents in the production of our cryogenic
products.
Briefly
Cryogenic preservation is wonderful research in medical science. It is useful in
various fields of science. It would help doctors to study and eradicate
diseases related to chromosomes.
